On 2nd July 2007, Oak and Silver Birch classes (Year 1) travelled to nearby Dropmore school with staff and parents. Steve McCafferty had arranged a Kwik cricket match between the two schools.
A big thank you to Mrs Forsyth for taking the photographs and the other parents who gave up their afternoon.

What is Kwik Cricket? Kwik Cricket is a fun way of getting into cricket and developing the skills for children aged 5 years and over. - The game is played with a plastic bat and ball, so you don't have to worry too much about getting hit on the head by a hard ball!
- Each team has eight players(boys and girls) and bats for eight overs.
- The team is divided into four pairs with each pair batting for two overs each.
- You start with 200 runs
Every member of the fielding side has to bowl one over each - overarm or underarm is fine. Every time the batter gets out, five runs come off the total and the batters swap places. You can score runs exactly the same as in normal cricket to increase your total. You can only get out by being bowled, caught, stumped, run out or if you hit your own wicket The batting side get an extra two runs if a wide or a no-ball is bowled - but no additional ball is bowled except during the final over. No fielder can stand within 10 yards of the batsman - except for the wicketkeeper.
