We celebrate 'Diwali'
As part of our curriculum in Religious Education, the children looked at the Hindu festival of 'Diwali', which means the 'festival of lights'.
Every class listened to an appropriate version of the story of Rama and Sita and looked at Hindu artefacts, as well as undertaking some colourful artwork

Year 2 children finished the week by tasting a variety of Indian food in the hall - popadoms, naan bread, bombay mix, onion bhajees, samosas and pakoras. Many children enjoyed their first taste of Indian food and tried everything!

Both classes had made and decorated clay divas, which were used to light up the hall. |

Some of our girls took the opportunity to show us their beautiful clothes. |

Mrs Suresh made this beautiful rangoli pattern. |

Mrs Fischer enjoyed tasting the food too!
A big thank you to Mrs Suresh, Mrs Sidhu, Mrs Fischer, Mrs Wood and Mrs Weller for their help.
