LEARNING IS A JOURNEY - NOT A RACE!!

   We celebrate 'Diwali' and Eid

As part of our curriculum in Religious Education, the children looked at the Hindu festival of 'Diwali', which means the 'festival of lights'.  Every class listened to an appropriate version of the story of Rama and Sita and looked at Hindu artefacts, as well as undertaking some colourful artwork

Year 2 children finished the week by tasting a variety of Indian food in the hall - popadoms, naan bread, bombay mix, onion bhajees, samosas and pakoras. Both classes had made and decorated clay divas, which were used to light up the hall.

These Year 2 pupils wore their special clothes to celebrate.

Mrs Qayyum came into Silver Birch class and talked to the children about celebrating Eid.
