The Reception classes of Beech and Chestnut are working in the Early Years Foundation Stage and a curriculum has been developed around fortnightly mini topics based on a variety of books - both modern and traditional, fiction and non-fiction.
The Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum has six areas of learning:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication, language and literacy
- Mathematical development
- Knowledge and Understanding of the World

The Year 1 and Year 2 classes are working in Key Stage 1. These classes use termly whole school topics as a way of accessing ( if appropriate) the required subject areas of:

- Design and Technology
- ICT
- Music
- RE
- PHSE
A curriculum newsletter is sent home to all parents at the beginning of each term.
