HARVEST ASSEMBLY

Thank you for your support for the Harvest Assembly, by sending in items for the Harvest Assembly display, making generous donations and buying the goods, and supporting the children by attending the assembly. It was very encouraging to see the hall so full. The total raised for the charity 'Seeds for Africa' is a fantastic £385.

BOOK WEEK

Book Week was very successful, with the children enjoying a variety of events. Well done to all those who remembered to send in the £2 contribution on the Monday. The Book Fair also proved very popular, with more than £700 spent on books. This will allow for us to claim about £400 worth of books for the school. Again, thank you for your support.

PHOTOGRAPHS

You should have all received your child?s photograph and any family photographs. The time given by the photographer to return orders was quite short, so please make sure you send in your orders by Monday, 29th October. We will then return the orders to the photographer immediately. This should ensure that you receive the photographs in good time for Christmas.

PLANTING BULBS

As part of our programme to encourage the children to think of others and to raise awareness about the environment, we are planning to plant spring flowering bulbs. We have received sufficient bulbs for each child, including Acorn, to plant from the Myasthenia Gravis Association. This is a charity that supports those suffering from myasthenia gravis, a muscle weakening disorder which means that those suffering from the disorder typically tire very easily when completing everyday tasks. The charity supports therapy programmes to return patients to near normal function. We would like all the pupils to get some sponsorship for planting their bulb. Each class will plant their bulbs in a class area so that they can monitor and record the growth until the spring, when the school site will be enhanced with flowers from all the bulbs that have been planted. Our aim is to try and raise about £750 for the Myasthenia Gravis Association, which means everyone trying to get about £5 each in sponsorship. If anyone would be able to help plant the bulbs on the 1st or 2nd November, please let me know.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. J.R. Coleman,
Head Teacher.

Please use this slip to return your child?s sponsorship to school in an envelope, by the start of November. Many thanks ? I do hope you will support this initiative.
