FARNHAM   COMMON   INFANT SCHOOL

NEWSLETTER

22nd April, 2008

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the new families joining the school.  I hope you will soon feel familiar with the school routines.  Please ask a member of staff if you are unsure about anything at all.

THURSDAY, 24TH APRIL

You will be aware of media coverage of a proposed strike by the National Union of Teachers this Thursday.  None of the teachers in this school or Farnham   Common   Junior   School will be taking strike action, so all children should attend school as usual.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

  • All classes will have a trip offsite during the term.  Please look out for information about these trips, consent forms to be completed and guidance on payment.  With so many children involved in trips, I would ask you to read carefully the instructions on when to return forms and payment.  Compliance with the instructions will greatly help the teachers and administrative staff.  Forms and payments should always be returned to the class teacher.

  • Parents are welcome to join:-

Oak Class on Thursday, 22nd May at for their class assembly.

Willow and Sycamore on Thursday, 17th July at for their class assembly.

Please make other arrangements for children younger than school age for both these assemblies.

  • Class photographs will be taken on Monday, 9th June.

  • Music Week will be 16th – 20th June.  Please let me know if you have any musical skills to share with the children.

CAR PARK

Towards the end of last term, I became aware that some parents/carers are not using the car park appropriately for the safety and consideration of all.

  • A one-way system operates, which must not be blocked at any time.  Turn left as you enter the car park.

  • Please park in the marked spaces.

  • Never allow children to play in the car park or adjacent grass or cross the car park area alone.

  • Remember – when an accident happens it could be your child who is injured.

YOU CAN HELP

  • Please can you help us by providing a box of tissues so that we can have tissues available in all classes for the children to use as necessary.  Please do not send Kleenex Balsam tissues, as some children may be allergic to these.

  • Children should continue to bring coats every day, as the weather is so unpredictable.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. J.R. Coleman,

Head Teacher.
